According to some historians, the first religious services held in Milbank were Congregational. Before a church could be built, the Congregational Society received an offer of $15,000 from Jeremiah Milbank to build a nondenominational church. That plan did not materialize, and the church was built as Congregational. The building was completed in 1883. Of particular interest are the beautiful stained glass windows which were originally installed.
The church is on the National Register of Historic Buildings. It is not affiliated with the Grant County Historical Society.
