The Historical House
South Fourth Street & Third Avenue
Milbank, South Dakota
Built in the late 1800's as a church and then converted to a home in the early 1900's, the Historical House is furnished to depict lifestyles of that era complete with furniture, wallcoverings, clothing, and utensils used at that time.
The cookstove is an example of the detail given to the kitchen and pantry including an icebox. On the back porch are the washing facilities with the old washtubs, wringer, scrubboard, and copper boiler on the stove for heating water.
